Vail is one of the best places to take in the changing leaves, being just a little lower than Summit County in elevation the Vail Valley gets less wind and the bright yellow leaves tend to stick around a little longer. The Vail Gondolas will run Friday through Saturday through Oct. 2 this year for views like this one above, and the Vail area is also home to one of American's Scenic Byways, Highway 24 through the cute little town of Minturn which has all the character of a classic mountain town. The scenic byway is the best way to experience the changing leaves in the area, starting near Vail and ending near Aspen. It crosses the Continental Divide twice and takes you along both the Eagle and Arkansas Rivers and to the famed Independence Pass.

Vail Restaurant Week

Vail Beaver Creek Restaurant Week will take place Sept. 30 – Oct. 9, 2016, offering you the perfect chance to check out all the restaurants you've been dying to try. The 10-day event will encompass both Vail and Beaver Creek Villages, where participating restaurants will offer specials for $20.16.
Vail Restaurant Week has been taking place for four years now and has been one of the more successful multi-restaurant events on the Western Slope of Colorado. Organizers say the success of the event is due to each restaurant "taking the time and effort to offer such incredible specials," the event boasts on its website. "Without their willingness to try something new and to think outside the box with their offers, the ten day event wouldn’t have been nearly as alluring."
