Beaver Creek opens Wednesday with more open terrain than the resort has seen on Opening Day in over a decade. Six lifts will be running, services more than 650 acres of the mountain. Those lifts start running at 9 a.m. and include:
Buckaroo Gondola (Lift #1)
Rose Bowl Express (Lift #4)
Centennial Express (Lift #6)
Cinch Express (Lift #8)
Strawberry Park Express (Lift #12)
Bachelor Gulch Express (Lift #16)
A selection of surface lifts will also be running. Opening Day at Beaver Creek will also feature the resort's 12th annual "World's Best Chocolate Chip Cookie Competition." 5,000 chocolate chip cookies will be served and participation is complimentary. Tasting and judging begin at 2 p.m., all guests are invited.
