This week, a decorated group of Paralympians will head to Vail to support the Adaptive Spirit 22nd Annual Event.

Adaptive Spirit is the largest individual fundraising event for the US Paralympic Alpine, Nordic, Snowboard and Biathlon teams.  It celebrates its twenty-second year in support of these amazing athletes who share their inspiration with attendees of all ages.

Just a few of the athletes in attendance this year are World Para Alpine Championship downhill and Super G winner Andrew Kurka, (http://www.teamusa.org/para-alpine-skiing/athletes/Andrew-Kurka); three time World Para Nordic Skiing Championships gold medalist, Oksana Masters (http://www.teamusa.org/para-cycling/athletes/Oksana-Masters); World Para Snowboard World Cup Final banked slalom bronze medalist, Mike Shea (http://www.teamusa.org/para-snowboarding/athletes/Mike-Shea ), World Para Nordic Cross Country Sprint Silver Medalist Andy Soule (http://www.teamusa.org/para-nordic-skiing/athletes/Andy-Soule) and World Para Snowboard World Cup Final snowboard-cross silver medalist, Keith Gabel (http://www.teamusa.org/para-snowboarding/athletes/Keith-Gabel).

A short video about the event is below:

A main event highlight takes place on Saturday, April 8, when the Paralympians are matched with telecommunications sponsor companies as they compete side-by-side in a downhill race at the Golden Peak race area on Vail Mountain.  Race times are recorded and winners are announced at the event banquet that evening.  A kid’s race precedes the downhill event – taking place on Friday.

The event will take place April 6-9. More information can be found at the following link: Adaptive Spirit
