Moose have been a bit more common in Vail over the recent decade - but usually hanging around Gore Creek in town. This past weekend, I discovered three moose (cow and two calves) hanging out on the front lawn of a multi-million home at the top of Potato Patch. When we drove up the driveway to take a closer look, the owner of the home "busted us" and asked us to leave "his moose" alone.
After more than 34 years in Vail and experiencing all sorts of wildlife, I was treated to this face-to-face. It's completely different experience than elk (which for those of you who don't live in Colorado will think is special). These animals are truly beautiful and gigantic.
