The Vail Recreation District's Mountain Bike Race Series will kick off its summer season of racing on Wednesday, May 25 featuring the Eagle Ranch Classic. During the race, riders will enjoy a variety of double and single track with distances ranging from 3.5 miles for younger riders to 12.6 miles for more experienced riders.

The Eagle Outside Festival will be a fun ride

The Eagle Outside Festival will take place June 3-6, 2016, in the lovely little town 30 minutes west of Vail called Eagle, one of Colorado's freshest new mountain bike destinations. The festival features a free consumer demo where cycling's most exciting brands will be on display, live music including the Dirty Dozen Brass Band at the Bonfire Block Party, mountain biking clinics for women and kids, the ChroMoly Chef Frankenbike competition, a 5K run/walk, a free kids fishing derby and a host of other activities.

2016 Vail Whitewater Race Series Starts May 10

Returning this spring, the Vail Recreation District will host the annual Vail Whitewater Race Series, presented by Howard Head Sports Medicine and Alpine Quest Sports. In its fourth year, races will take place from 5:30 to 7 p.m. on Tuesdays, beginning May 10. All races will be held at the Vail Whitewater Park where spectators will enjoy viewing from the banks of Gore Creek. Five races are scheduled and overall series prizes will be awarded following the final race on June 7.

3 activities your dog will love in Vail

Enjoy the off-leash parks
Bighorn and Stephens Parks in Vail are dog-friendly parks where dogs are allowed to roam off the leash as long as they stay away from the playground areas and can be controlled using voice command. Stephens Park is located at S Frontage Rd W and Kinnkinnick Rd in the Intermountain neighborhood in West Vail with a grassy field area access to Gore Creek. Bighorn Park is located on the other side of Vail, in East Vail, located on Meadow Drive and Juniper Lane, and also has a large grassy area for your dog to roam around in. Bighorn Park also has access to hiking trails nearby, which brings us to our next dog friendly activity.

An avid mountain biker and backcountry skier, he's active all season long and is constantly capturing images that give his followers a glimpse of what it's like in the Vail Valley at that moment.
