We are now 11 weeks into a 20 week ski season in Vail and the resort has recorded 224 inches of snow, 32 inches of which has come in the last week alone. And last week, Vail Mountain also
recorded 3 feet of new snow in a single one-week period.
With a 64-inch base, conditions are pretty much as good as they get. On a busy morning, the large crowds awaiting the fresh powder are ushered up the mountain at impressive speeds as the Gondola One lifties ensure 10 people are in each cabin. Those cabins travel up the mountain at an unprecedented speed of 1,200 feet per minute.
