Vail Mountain Celebrates End of Winter with Spring Back to Vail

Vail’s closing day for the 2016-17 season is Sunday, April 23, and the resort is preparing to say goodbye to winter with the annual Spring Back to Vail celebration. The event takes place April 14-16 and features a free live concert, the famous World Pond Skimming Championships, après after-dark parties, base area giveaways, and much more.

On Saturday, April 15, 123GO! Project, with special guest, MAGIC!, will headline the Spring Back to Vail free signature concert at Ford Park presented by Bud Light. The 123GO! Project is comprised of Stefan Lessard from Dave Matthews Band, Mike McCready from Pearl Jam, Bret Scallions from FUEL and Kenneth Schalk. The venue will open at 5:30 p.m. with music starting at 6:00 p.m.

“In a collaborative partnership between Vail Resorts and the Town of Vail, we were able to bring a signature Saturday night concert to life as part of the 2017 Spring Back to Vail schedule,” states Phil Metz, Senior Marketing Director of Vail and Beaver Creek. “Together, we want to celebrate with the community and our guests a fantastic season of delivering experiences of a lifetime.”  

Saturday’s Spring Back to Vail concert is free and will take place at Ford Park.

Also on Saturday, the second annual Bud Light Bags Tournament will kick off at Mid-Vail alongside of the Tikis and Tunes Luau. The fun begins at noon and includes a pig roast, Bud Light specials, live music from Schlep N’ Wolf, bags, giveaways, and more. Registration is required and can be found at vail.com/springback

The 15th Annual World Pond Skimming Championships will take place on Sunday, April 16. The top male and female in the contest will each be awarded the grand prize of a 2017-2018 Vail Resorts Epic Pass and a pair of Liberty skis. The contest gets underway at 3:00 p.m. and the Golden Peak venue opens at 12:00 p.m. for sponsor expos and giveaways. Registration is required and can be found at vail.com/springback

Admission to all Spring Back to Vail events is free, but Private Reserve passes for the 123GO! Project with special guest MAGIC!, give holders access to preferred viewing of the stage in Ford Park, complimentary food and complimentary alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages. The Private Reserve pass is the ultimate Spring Back concert experience, providing access to an exclusive area of the venue complete with outdoor heaters and close in viewing of the main stage and more.

Private Reserve passes for the 123GO! Project with special guest MAGIC! are $150 and are available for purchase at vail.com/springback. Space is limited.
