Following more than 18 feet of snow this season, including almost six feet during the month of January, Vail Mountain’s incredible snow conditions and a lineup of world-class events will set the resort up for a strong second half of the 2015-2016 ski and snowboard season. Vail Mountain, one of the largest ski resorts in the world, will transition to its spring operating schedule beginning Saturday, Feb. 13. With the shift in operating hours, the majority of front side lifts will close at 4 p.m., the Back Bowls and Game Creek Bowl will close at 3:30 p.m. and Blue Sky Basin
will close at 3 p.m. Lift operating hours are posted at the base of all open lifts.
“Vail has received amazing snow so far this season, and we look forward to some stellar skiing and riding as we finish out the season,” said Chris Jarnot, executive vice president and chief operating officer of Vail Mountain.
Vail Mountain will further extend operating hours later this season to better cater to guests during the Easter holiday period. From Saturday, March 19 through Saturday, April 2 the resort will adjust operating hours to 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Vail’s Back Bowls and Blue Sky Basin lifts will close according to their regular schedule during this time while most Front Side lifts will remain open until 4:30 p.m. For the final week of the season, from Sunday, April 3 until the scheduled closing date of Sunday, April 10, operating hours will shift to 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
