Vail Mountain has added a few new hiking trails to the mountain which are perfect for kids.

1-year-old hiker and the family friendly treks of Vail – On the Hill 8.8.16 from On the Hill on Vimeo.

The first is the brand new Eagle's Loop. It contains fun and informative animal ability centers along the trail where you can measure your step against a moose who might be roaming nearby, see how high a mountain lion can jump, and improve your hearing and vision to resemble that of the animals which can be found on Vail Mountain. The Eagle's Loop is acessed from the top of the Eagle Bahn Gondola where you'll find a nicely paved path past the Pride Express Chairlift and the Forest Flyer Alpine Coaster up to the loop. It's a very easy hike.

The second and third are the two variations of the Fireweed Loops which can be accessed from both the Eagle's Nest and Mid Vail areas atop the Eagle Bahn Gondola and Gondola One. The trails are roughly one mile each way and offer both point-to-point access or a looping hike. The Fireweed trails are slightly more streanous than the Eagle's Loop, but still do-able for hikers ages one and up!
