WinterWonderGrass festival returns to Avon Feb. 19-21

WinterWonderGrass returns following three consecutive sold out gatherings. Lively national, regional and local bluegrass and acoustic roots music, Colorado craft beers, wines, spirits and warm local foods surround locals and the valley's experience-seeking guests in a winter wonderland. Beaver Creek and the Rocky Mountains are the glowing backdrop for families and friends to dance, mingle and reconnect.

This community gathering focuses on sustainability, local nonprofits and support of the arts, which planting the seed for long-term growth into one of two premier winter bluegrass, roots music and beer festivals in the country.

The lineup includes two nights of Greensky Bluegrass, along with Leftover Salmon, The Wood Brothers, Nahko and Medicine for the People, The Travelin' McCourys, Fruition, Peter Rowan & Friends, Sister Spparrow and the Dirty Birds, Dave Simonett & Dave Carroll of Trampled by Turtles, Mandolin Orange, Drew Emmitt & Andy Thorn of Leftover Salmon, and much more.

WinterWonderGrass will be hosting 18 Colorado craft breweries onsite in two heated beer tents serving tastings of their signature craft beers from 2:30 to 5:30 p.m. daily. Fans and artists will be able to move from one brewery table to the next, learning about their special brews and sampling the goods.wwg_lineup

Each beer hall tent is heated and will host a pickin' stage and a jamboree stage for some amazing bluegrass and roots jams between sets on the main stage. You never know who will be sitting in!

The festival will take place in Nottingham Park, a 48 acre gathering place for summer and winter activities and makes the perfect location for WinterWonderGrass. The park is a short walk to town, transit hubs, the gondola to Beaver Creek, shops, bars, restaurants and surrounded with the view of the mountains.

Gates open each day at 2 p.m. and the music goes until 10 p.m.

The three-day event turns into a four-day event with a kick-off at the Vilar Performing Arts Center in Beaver Creek on Feb. 18. The kick-off concert starts at 7 p.m. and features Fruition & the WinterWonderGrass Allstars, members of Leftover Salmon and Peter Rowan.
